(She once scored a hole-in-one at the Twin Creeks course!) After retiring in 1992, they moved first to Clanton, Alabama, where they were members of the Bethsalem Baptist Church, and later in 1997, to Sun City West, Arizona. In 2007, they moved to Palo Alto, California to be closer to their son, Steve and his family. Chester died in 2008, and Edna moved with Steve & family to San Diego in 2015.

Edna was preceded in death by her brother Melvin, her parents, her husband Chester, her son Lamar (Marty), and her sisters Mildred Haywood and Florence Sanders. Edna is survived by her daughter, Sheila Wilkes of Greeneville, her son & son-in-law Stephen Mims & Jon Osborne of La Jolla, California; her sister: Elizabeth McPherson of Hanceville, AL; a brother-in-law: Dixon Sanders of Corner, AL; granddaughter Vera Mimsborne of La Jolla, CA; grandson Curtis Morrison and his wife Amanda, and grandson Derek Morrison all of Greeneville; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Morrison of Chattanooga.
