Elbert Edsel BAKER, 81, of Verbena died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Friday, May 25, 1928 in Winter Garden, Florida, Son of the late Franklin Enoch Baker and the late Bertha Emfinger. He was an Engineer. Surviving are his Wife, Annie Fern Baker of Verbena, AL; Son, Phil Baker of Clanton, AL; 2 Sisters, Sue (Marshall) Waites of Clanton, AL, Carolyn Maddox of Clanton, AL; Brother, Hershel (Eunice) Baker of Opp, AL; Grandson, Phillip Edward "Bunky" (Heather) Baker of Clanton, AL; 3 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 10-11am, Saturday, November 14, 2009 @ Mt. Pisgah Church. Services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 11:00AM. at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Nobles officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Clanton AL. The family request no flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Pisgah Church. Martin Funeral Home directing.
