Eleanor Maureen Acklin, 86, of Adamsville,TN passed away May 29, 2025, at West Tennessee Health Care Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born December 31, 1938, in Russell County Alabama, daughter of the late Henry Jones and the late Tommie Jones.
She was born deaf, but never let her disability hinder her. She attended the Alabama School for the Deaf, where she successfully learned to sound out the sounds of the verbal alphabet. She also attended Day Springs University of Georgia. Maureen was employed with the United States Postal Service, where she held the position of sorting mail. She was never seen without a smile on her face that would brighten any room she entered.
Surviving are her Daughter, Amy Howell; Grandsons, Marshall (Beth) Nye, Daniel Nye; Granddaughter, Christi (Darryl) Ruth; Great-Grandchildren, Landon Nye, Lainey Nye, Dylan Nye, D.J. Nye, Katlyn Ruth,Wyatt Ruth,
Denver Ruth.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Henry Jones; Mother, Tommie Leah Jones.
Graveside Services will be held, Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 2:00P.M. at Chestnut Creek Cemetery.
Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama.
