Elizabeth "Betty" Jenkins Johnson, 89, of Clanton died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, October 9, 1926 in Tuskegee, AL, Daughter of the late H.C. Jenkins and the late Naomi Darling Jenkins. She was a Social Worker. Surviving are her Son, J. Sam Johnson, Jr. (Patti) of Montgomery, AL; Daughter, Margaret Vann of Las Vegas, NV; Grandsons, Joe Johnson (Jan) of Longmont, CO, Stewart Vann (Kerin) of Haddon Heights, NJ, Robert Vann (Carter) of Norwalk, CT; Granddaughter, Courtney Johnson (Burt Ritchie) of Wilmington, NC; 6 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Sam Johnson; Daughter, Rebecca Roberts. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:45 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Clanton City Cemetery with Rev. Matt DeBord officiating. No flowers, please. Donations can be made to Judson College.
