Eloise Cox Voyles

Eloise Cox Voyles, 74, of Clanton died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Jackson Hospital. She was born on Monday, August 31, 1942 in Chilton Co., AL, Daughter of the late John J. Cox and the late Jennie Weldon Cox. She was a graduate of Billingsley High School in 1960, the University of Montevallo and Massey Droughon Business College in Montgomery. She began her working career as a state employee, and after several years, she married Thomas Gary Voyles and moved to Clearwater, Florida while he attended Bible College. After returning to Chilton County, she worked for many years in the insurance industry. During this time, she was a full time pastor's wife and dedicated mother. She enjoyed youth mission trips and camps, taught GA's, served in the Chilton Co. Jail Ministry and was the pianist for New Cedron Baptist Church for the last several years. During her later years, she was a committed caregiver for both her mother and husband. In addition, nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, Brody and Kylie. Surviving are Sons, Mr. Keith (Dina Baker) Voyles, Mr. Greg (Sece Parr) Voyles; Grandchildren, Brody & Kylie Voyles; Brother, Mr. Cecil (Glenda) Cox; Sister, Mrs. Vinetta Cox (Eugene) Tucker; Numerous Cousins, Nieces & Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Rev. Gary Voyles. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at New Cedron Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Cleckler officiating. Interment will follow in Collins Chapel Cemetery, Thorsby.
