He was born on Monday, February 23, 1925 in Bibb Co., Alabama, Son of the late Alford Smitherman and the late Bertha Chism Smitherman. He was a Supervisor. Surviving are his Wife, Mrs. Virginia Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Brother, Mr. Doyle J. Smitherman; Godson, Mr. Matt Moore of Clanton, AL; Nieces & Nephews. Friends will be received from 4:30-7:30pm Monday, December 14, 2009 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 1:00PM. at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
