Essie Faye Ellison, 86, of Jemison died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her residence. She was born on Monday, October 24, 1932 in Alabama, Daughter of the late Onnie Porter and the late Pearlie Ellison Porter. She was a school cafeteria cook. Surviving are her Son, Alton (Terry) Ellison of Jemison, AL; Daughters, Linda Joiner of Clanton, AL, Judy (Rickey) Burnett of Jemison, AL; 7 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, A host of nieces and nephews; Sister, Imogene (Harold) Patterson of Jemison, AL; Brother, Charles (Kathy) Porter of Jemison, AL; Brother-in-Law, James Hicks of Jemison, AL; Niece, Regina (Brandy) Ray of Jemison, AL. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Alvin Jack Ellison; Parents, Onnie & Pearlie Porter; Sisters, Jessie Mae Ray & Rea Hicks. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Carey Waldrop officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
