Estelle Foshee Houston

Estelle Foshee Houston of Stanton, Alabama passed away peacefully at Hatley Health Care Monday, September 07, 2020. She was born February 05, 1927 in Chilton County Alabama to George W Foshee and Ella Littlejohn Foshee. She graduated from Chilton County High School and attended cosmetology school. She was a beautician and practiced in Selma during her younger years and later in Maplesville until retirement. She truly loved being a beautician and was quick to notice if someone had a new hairstyle. She was meticulous about her hair and nails and looked forward to her beauty shoppe appointments when she was in assisted living. She enjoyed her special TV soap operas and always loved to watch football games - the team did not really matter. She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton until her health required her to move into assisted living in Birmingham and later to Hatley Health Care in Clanton. Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ruby Foshee Braswell, Georgia Foshee Powell; brother S Q Foshee; and her loving husband of 53 years Joseph Leighton Houston. Estelle is survived by nieces and nephews: Pam Braswell Williams (John), Lindy Houston Payne (Johnny), Myra Houston Atcheson (James), Tommy Powell, Danny Foshee (Mary), Norris Braswell (Cindy), Ben Powell (Martha) and others. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Ebenezer Baptist Church with a brief service to follow at 11 AM.
