Etta H. Porter, 86, of Jemison died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. She was born on Thursday, April 12, 1928 in Chilton County, Daughter of the late R. C. Hayes and the late Freddie Patterson Hayes. She was a Homemaker. Surviving are 4 Daughters, Mrs. Helen (James) Howell, Mrs. Tommie Faye (Johnny) Jones, Mrs. Elaine Avery, Ms. Willodean "Lucy" Porter; 2 Sons, Mr. Howard (Cindy) Porter, Mr. Rickey Lee (Dot) Porter; 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Tom Porter; Son, Mr. Earnest Wayne Porter and Son-in-law, Mr. Charles Avery. Friends will be received from 5-8, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014, at 11:00 am. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Randal Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
