Evelyn Gaye Gwathney, 79, of Prattville, Alabama passed away July 27, 2026, at her residence.

She was born May 5, 1947, in Fayetteville, Alabama, daughter of the late George Burks and the late Mary Jones.

She was an account technician.

Surviving are her Son, Daryl Chapman; Granddaughter, Kristi (Wesley) Littlefield; Grandchildren, Thomas, Adeline, Ezra and Chapman Littlefield; Daughters, Angie Harper, Teresa Gwathney; Grandaughters, Erica Shaw, Kimber Davis, Grandson, Jacob Davis; A host of other family.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Thomas L. Gwathney; Father, George Harold Burks; Mother, Mary I. Jones; Sister, Diane Owen.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Clanton, Alabama.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
