Flora Dean Thornhill Smitherman, 87, of Clanton died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at her residence in Clanton, AL. She was born on Wednesday, March 10, 1926 in Alabama, Daughter of the late David Columbus Wilson and the late Evie Lee Robinson Wilson. She was a Homemaker. Surviving are her 3 Daughters, Barbara Cleckler, Karen (Marvin) Parker, Patsy (Robert) Knapp; Son, James (Sue) Thornhill; Son-in-Law, Thomas Brewer; 15 Grandchildren, and 16 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her First Husband, Mr. Ned Thornhil, Second Husband, Mr. Wilbur Smitherman; Daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Brewer; Grandson, Mr. Terry Cleckler. Friends will be received from 5-8, Thursday, June 13, 2013 @ New Hope Baptist Church, Jemison, AL. Services will be held Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Jemison, AL with Rev. Calvin Smitherman and Rev. Jeff Mims officiating.
