Gary Dewayne Farris, 55, of Clanton passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1959 in Clanton, AL, Son of the late Jessie Leon Farris and the late Estelle Littleton Farris. Since leaving his job of 21 years at Glidewell Specialties Foundry, Mr. Farris has been fighting heart disease at home for many years. He was a member of Robinson Springs Church for 35 years. Surviving are his beloved Wife, Terri Farris of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Kelli Farris (Brandon) Peek; Grandson, Luke Peek, all of Clanton; and he was PaPaw to one Special Great Nephew, Spencer Guy of Thorsby; Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law, R.T "Tom" & Shirley Brown of Clanton; Brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Farris; Sister-in-Law, Doris Farris; 7 Sisters, Linda (Thomas) Davis, Margaret (Charles) Courtney, Shirley (Ray) Edwards, Sandra (Randy) Parker, Connie (Tony) Campbell, Cindy (John) Greene, Frances Luther; A host of nieces & nephews. Mr. Farris was preceded in death by his Parents, Jessie Leon & Estelle Farris; Brother, Donnie Farris; Brothers-in-Law, Jerry Luther, Doug Langston, Jerry, Mike, & Steve Brown; a host of aunts, uncles, & cousins. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Robinson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Farris officiating with a 1 hour visitation preceding service.
