George Robert "Bobby" Payton

George Robert "Bobby" Payton, 68, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away May 11, 2020 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, AL. He was born September 27, 1951 in Clanton, Alabama, son of George Payton and Mamie Jones Payton. He was a commercial produce salesman. Bobby's most true friends looked at him as a father and a brother. Because of their loyalty his business will continue to thrive and go forward in his legacy. He was known worldwide for his love of others and faithfulness to them. Surviving are his Wife, Frances Payton, Son, Robby Payton, Daughter, Julie Payton, Grandson, Ashton Basler, Sister, Cindy (Jay) Bates, Nephew, Jason (Laura) Bates, Niece, Mary Ruth (Mark) Ganus, Father-in-law, James Plier, Brother-in-law, Jimmy (Kathy) Plier, Nephew, Kris (Stephany) Plier, A host of other family. He was preceded in death by his Father, George Robert "Buddy" Payton, Sr., Mother, Mamie Jones Payton, Mother-in-law, Lois Plier. Friends will be received Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Church. Services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Church with Travis Bussey officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
