Gertie Mae Powell

Gertie Mae Powell, 88, a lifelong resident of Clanton left this life to be with her family in heaven on February 1, 2011. She quietly passed away at home with family by her side. She was born on Thursday, May 4, 1922 in Bibb Co., AL, Daughter of the late Jadie M. Culp and the late Mattie Frith Culp. She is survived by her loving son, Jackie Powell. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 20 great great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. She shared many great times with her family and her loving and gentle spirit will be missed. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 10-11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial service will follow at Plesant Grove Church, Clanton, AL from 11:30-12:15. Martin Funeral Home directing.
