Greg L. Varden, 65, of Thorsby died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. He was born on Thursday, September 28, 1950 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late James Isom Varden and the late Odell Robinson Varden Heflin. Surviving are his Brother, Johnny (Penny) Varden of Rockford, AL; Brother-in-Law, Richard Minor of Clanton, AL; Sister-in-Law, Joyce Varden of Foley, AL; Step-Brothers, James (Sherry) Heflin, Bobby "Cooter" (Lisa) Heflin; Step-Sister, Judy (Eugene) Wyatt; Nephews, Harold (Michelle) Minor, Chris (Ginger) Minor, A host of nieces, nephews, & other family. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Odell R. Heflin; Father, James Isom Varden; Brother, Jimmy Dale Varden; Sister, Debra Dean Minor; Step-Father, Bobby Heflin. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Bro.
