Howard Q. Smith, Jr, 61, of Jemison died Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Vincent's Chilton, Clanton. He was born on Monday, July 18, 1955 in Montgomery, AL, Son of the late Howard Q. Smith, Sr. and the late Joann Grider Smith. He was a commercial drywall installer. Surviving are his Wife, Lanell Smith of Jemison, AL; Sister, Mardi Joe Pretiger (Dave) of Cumming, GA; Daughters, Andrea Manning (Matt) of Pike Road, AL, April Giles (Danny) of Jemison, AL, "C. J." Courtney Williams (Tim) of Thorsby, AL; Son, "Bubba" Howard Smith, III (Haley) of Jemison, AL; Granddaughters, Hanna Giles, Sophia Manning, Whitney Manning, Harper Smith; Grandsons, Treyson Williams, Tucker Smith. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Joann Smith; Father, Howard Smith, Sr.; Brother, Joe Frank Smith; Father-in-Law, Oneal Porter. Friends will be received from 5-7, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Pates Chapel Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Wyatt and Rev. Doug West officiating. Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
