Ivan W. Smith, 94, of Prattville died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Jackson Hospital , Montgomery. He was born on Wednesday, October 25, 1916 in Coosa Co., Alabama, Son of the late Joseph Smith and the late Annie Harmon Smith. He was a Technician. Mr. Smith was a WWII Army Veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He also was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Surviving are Daughter, Mrs. Janice Smith Farr of Birmingham, AL; Son, Mr. Van Smith of Billingsley, AL; 2 Granddaughters, Ms. Jani Leigh Farr of Birmingham, AL, Ms. Grace Smith of Clanton, AL; 2 Grandsons, Mr. Will (Brooke) Smith of Birmingham,, AL, Mr. Zac Smith of Birmingham, AL; Great Grandson, Mstre Brody Smith of Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mrs. Louise Smith. Friends will be received from 5-8, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Martin Chapel.. Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11:00 am at Indian Grave Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Posey, Rev. Rev. Mike McLemore & Rev. Solomon White officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Grave Cemetery, Billingsley, AL. In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to Indian Grave Baptist Church.
