J. W. "Dub" Short

J. W. "Dub" Short, 90, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away September 2, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

He was born January 9, 1932 in Chilton County, Alabama, son of the late Johnny William Short and Lela Weldon Short.

He was a Diesel Mechanic with International Harvester and Alabama Power.

Surviving are his Wife, Glenda M. Short, Daughter, Rhonda Johnson, Son, Gary  (Belinda) Short, Step-Daughter, Michele (Patrick) Schiffman, Step-son, Michael (Rebekah) Pegusky, 9 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren, Sisters, Delene Carroll and Sally Davis, Brother, Melton (Linda) Short, A host of other family.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Johnny William Short, Mother, Lela Short, Wife, Geraldine Short, Daughter, Sandra Echols, Grandson, Derric Echols, Sister, Jewel Robinson, Sister, Jeanette Smitherman, Sister, Gertrude Hayes, Brother, Howard Short, Son-in-Law, Buddy Echols, Son-in-Law, Eddie Johnson.

Friends will be received Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 8254 Highway 17, Maylene, AL 35114.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 8254 Highway 17, Maylene, AL 35114 with Pastor Paul Armstrong officiating.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens, Clanton, Alabama.
