Jack Tillery, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2026. Born on November 2, 1949, in Jemison, Alabama, Jack was a lifelong resident of the community he loved. Through hard work, determination, and integrity, he became a successful business owner and earned the respect of many throughout his life. Jack was an avid fisherman who found joy and peace on the water, and he was a passionate Corvette enthusiast who never missed an opportunity to admire a beautiful car or talk with fellow enthusiasts. However, Jack cherished time spent with his family more than anything. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. Jack had an unforgettable sense of humor and a remarkable gift for bringing light to even the most difficult situations. His quick wit, warm smile, and positive outlook touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Flossie Tillery; his brother, Danny Tillery; and his sister, Peggy Tillery. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Tillery; his children, Jack Tillery Jr. (Abby), David McCurdy (Emily), and Delaney McCurdy; his grandchildren, Will McCurdy, Gabe McCurdy, Alexandria Yeager, Megan Richardson (Buddy), Georgia Tillery, Briggs Tillery; and his brother, Mack Tillery (Donna).
Friends will be received Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church with officiating.
Interment will follow in Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
Jack's legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Though he will be greatly missed, his family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
