James Ernest Fulmer

James Ernest Fulmer, 85, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away August 6, 2025.

James was born in Clanton, Alabama. There he attended grade school through high school. He was in the Chilton County High School graduating class of 1958. After high school he attended Marion Military Institute and Virginia Military Institute. On September 23, 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Julia Caroline Dickinson. They became residents of Alabaster, Alabama in 1966.

His career was in furniture sales and management. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, cooking, watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster and enjoyed attending Sunday School with his wife and classmates.

Survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Caroline Dickinson Fulmer; his daughters, Julie (Randy) Littleton and Joyce (Sean) Garrison; granddaughters, Carrie Beth Littleton, Anna Kathryn Littleton (Justin) DuTreil and Alma Celeste Littleton (Ben) Travis; and great-grandchildren, Julian, Carter and Jensen Travis and Charlotte and Paige DuTreil; brother, Jerry W. (Susan) Fulmer.

Proceeded in death by his parents Ernest A. “Red” and Mary Frances (Popwell) Fulmer; brothers Roy Edward Downs and Perry O’Neal Fulmer.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 am. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Andrews officiating.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens, Clanton, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Alabaster Kindergarten.
