James Marion "Jimmy" Thomas, 94, of Clanton, Alabama passed away August 1, 2020. He was born July 2, 1926 in Jasper, Alabama, son of Henry Thomas and Viola Thomas. He was a police officer and veteran. Surviving are his Sons, Phil (Kathy) Thomas, Paul (Margaret) Thomas; Daughters, Glynis Thomas, Marian (Bruce) Mims; Granddaughters, Lynn Gassaway, Laura Jones, Kyla Patton, Morgan Guthas; Grandson, Philip Thomas; Brother, Harold D. Thomas; 10 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Loris Gaynell "Nell" Nelson Thomas; Father, Henry Thomas; Mother, Viola Perry Thomas; Brother, Harvey Thomas; Sisters, Pauline Jessop, Christine Carlisle, Louise Williams. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Kent Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
