James O'Neil "J.O." Mims, 82, of Clanton, Alabama passed away November 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born December 1, 1936 in Clanton, Alabama, son of the late James Marvin Mims and the late Annie Reed Jones Mims. He was owner and contractor of Old Acres Construction Company. Surviving are his Daughters, Pam (Steve) Scott, Freda (Allen) Vines; Son, Jeff Mims; Grandchildren, Shelly (Anthony) Bice, Darrell (Stephanie) Scott, Ryan (Casey) Mims, Kyle (Kristin) Mims, Kayla (Dave) Huebner, Molly (Darren) Vasel, Rachel (Ken) Harmon, Zoe Roberts; Great-Grandchildren, Lane and Logan Bice, Lakyn, Baylee and Ashtyn Scott, Hubbard Mims, Kelton Mims, Hadley & Weston Huebner, Gavin Nelson, Charlee Harmon; Brothers, Gerald Mims, Gary (Gail) Mims, Steve (Joellyn) Mims; Sister, Edna Rushing. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Frances Malynn Cox Mims, Father, James Marvin Mims, Mother, Annie Reed Jones Mims. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama with Rev. Dale Collins officiating.
