James Edward Silas, loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, age 71, of Deatsville, Alabama died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at his residence in Deatsville. He was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1942 in Jefferson Co., AL, Son of the late Charlie Hubert Silas and the late Grace Hogan Silas. He was a retired Auto Body Technician. Surviving are his Wife, Carole Stone Silas of Deatsville, AL; 2 Daughters, Lisa (Michael) Headley of Daphne, AL, Leigh Ann (Steve) Boddie of Verbena, AL; Son, James (Rachael) Silas II of Panama City, FL; 7 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Robbie) Walker, Kayla Boddie, Andy Headley, Jessica (Nathan) Oldroyd, Jacob Silas, Noah Silas, Jameson Silas; Great Grandchildren, Riley Madison Walker & Jacob Walker; 2 Brothers, Charles Silas of Lake Charles, LA & Rodney Silas of Pell City, AL; 4 Sisters, Shirley Honeycutt of Sylvan Springs, AL, Martha Capps of McDonalds Chapel, AL, Linda (James) Duncan of Leeds, AL & Margaret Cadle of Leeds, AL. He was preceded in death by two Brothers, Donald & Stephen Silas. Friends will be received from 6-8, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 10:00 am. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Jerry Lankford officiating. Interment will follow in First United Methodist Church Cem., Sylvan Springs , Alabama. Flowers will be accepted or you may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
