Jane Melvin Shanks, 98, of Maplesville, Alabama passed away April 16, 2020 at Hatley Health Care, Clanton, Alabama. She was born July 28, 1921 in Dallas County, the daughter of Emmett Shanks and Foy Bass Shanks. She was a Bank Teller with Bank of Maplesville for many years. Surviving are her Nephew, Mike (Joyce) Shanks, Niece, Jennifer (Steve) Davis, Niece, Janice (Ronald) Smitherman, Niece, Judy (Bobby) O'Neal, Niece, Nancy (Donald) Marshall, Great Nephew, Rusty (Jamie) O'Neal, Great Niece, Dawn (Darrell) Johnson, Great Niece, Paige (Steve) Gorman, Great Niece, Kelly Smitherman, Great Niece, Cassie Smitherman, Great Niece, Renea (Brian) Gilliland, Great Nephew, Philip (Nicole) Davis, Great Nephew, Chris (Gina) Marshall, Great Niece, Kandy Marshall, Great Niece, Karen (Joey) Coker, Great Nephew, Brandon (Brittany) Shanks, Great Nephew, Jeffrey (Chelsea) Shanks. She was preceded in death by her Father, Emmett Napoleon Shanks, Mother, Foy Bass Shanks, Brother, Hershel (Nettie) Shanks, Sister, Mary (Fred) Burgess. Services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Casey Church of Christ Cemetery in Tyler, AL with Michael Colson and Jeffrey Spanks officiating.
