Janice Marie Smith Dennis, 86, of Verbena, Alabama passed away July 22, 2024 at her daughter's home in Ashville, AL.

She was born March 17, 1938, in Alabama, daughter of the late Harvard Yale Smith and the late Beulah Ruby Smith.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She always put others before herself. She loved Jesus and was a member of Verbena Baptist Church.

Surviving are her Husband of 68 years, Clinton C. Dennis, Son, William C. (Kay) Dennis, Son, Phillip S Dennis, Daughter, Allyson D. (Bert) Bright, Grandson, Kyle (Rachelle) Dennis, Granddaughter, Tiffany Applegate, Granddaughter, Tori Applegate, Great-Grandson, Aiden Tubbs, Great-Grandson, Sawyer Tubbs, Great-Grandson, Clay Dennis, Great-Grandson, Remy Dennis, Sister, Wylene (Gary) Kennington, Sister, Delores (Bob) Darabaris, Brother, Howard (Carol) Smith, Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Harvard Yale Smith, Mother, Ruby Beulah Smith, Sister, Nancy Moye, Sister, Ida Jean Abrams.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 1:00 pm. at Verbena Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Kennington officiating.

She will lie in state on Thursday from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Verbena Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens, Clanton, Alabama.
