Janie Joy Smitherman, 79, of Clanton died Monday, July 28, 2013 in Birmingham. She was born on Wednesday, October 4, 1933 in Oklahoma, Daughter of the late William Sells and the late Leo Maness Sells. She was a Receptionist. Surviving are Daughter, Kathy S. York of Hoover, AL & Granddaughter, Kaylyn York of Hoover, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Leo Sells. Friends will be received from 5-7, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 2:00 pm. at Jackson Chapel Church. Interment will follow in Jackson Chapel Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing. You may leave online condolences for the family on our website.
