Jarrod Zane Patterson

Jarrod Zane Patterson, 46, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away March 11, 2020.


He was born September 7, 1973 in Montgomery, Alabama, son of Chuck Patterson and Jenny Patterson.


Jarrod was a 1991 graduate of Chilton County High School.  He was a member of the state runner-up team in 1990.  Jarrod received a scholarship to play baseball at Jeff Davis Community College.  In 1993 he was drafted by the New York Mets in the 20th round of the minor league draft.  He played professionally from 1993 to 2006.  The highlight of his career was playing on the major league level for the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals.  After retiring from baseball he worked as a hitting instructor and travel ball coach.


Surviving are his Sons, Briggs Patterson, Knox Patterson and Anthony Patterson; Daughter, Mattie Patterson; Father, Chuck Patterson; Mother, Jenny Patterson; Sister, Monica (William) Dill; Niece, Mollie Dill.


Friends will be received Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 at Jack Hayes Field, Clanton, Alabama.


Services will be held Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Jack Hayes Field.


Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
