Jean Williams Wells, age 93 of Clanton, AL passed away peacefully at her home
surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 8, 2026. She was born on January 15,
1933 in Billingsley, AL, the daughter of the late W.A. and Marie Antoinette Kynard Williams, Sr..
Surviving family members are Husband, of 74 years, Otis L. Wells, Daughter, Susan Rene
(Dale) Mims; Daughter-in-Law Susan (Gil) Wilcox; Grandson, Jared Mims;
Granddaughters, Shannon (Kent) Wells Carden, Jessica Mims Aders; Great Grandsons
Mason Wells Carden, Morgan Bradley Carden, Liam Michael Aders; Sisters-in-Law
Audrey Williams, Betty Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Michael Lynn Wells; Brothers W.A.
(Dean) Williams, Jr., John (Ruby) Marvin Williams, Douglas Kynard Williams, James
Russell Williams; Sister, Alma Marie (Alvis) Shirley.
Jean was a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep love for her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and her family. Alongside her beloved husband, she truly lived as the
hands and feet of Jesus, faithfully serving others through their church, mission trips and
countless quiet acts of kindness. Her life was a beautiful example of faith in action,
selfless love and devotion to those she held dear. Her greatest legacy will be the love
she gave so freely and the family she held so close.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible hospice nurses and
social worker who cared for her. Your compassion, tenderness, and dedication brought
comfort and peace during such a difficult time. You cared for her with such love and
dignity, and in doing so, you cared for all of us.
Friends will be received Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be held Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11:00 am. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
