Jessie Proof "J.P." Waldrop, 87, of Jemison died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Wednesday, September 18, 1929 in Bibb Co., AL, Son of the late Proof Justice Waldrop and the late Jessie Gibson Waldrop. He was an auto body mechanic. Surviving are his Wife, Annie Waldrop of Jemison, AL; Son, Michael Waldrop (Donna) of Randolph, AL; Daughter, Sandra Bearden (Marty) of Randolph, AL; Granddaughters, Gretchen Smitherman (David), Charlotte Mizell (Ryan), Jayme Brown (Jimmy); 6 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Catherine Cates. He was preceded in death by his Granddaughter, Jennifer Waldrop; Sister, Mella Mae Brown; Brother, Lee Lewis Waldrop. Friends will be received from 5-8, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Union Springs Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Evie Megginson officiating. Interment will follow in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Randolph, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
