Jimmie Barnes Plyler

Jimmie Barnes Plyler, 78, of Verbena, Alabama passed away July 17, 2026, at Baptist South.

He was born November 14, 1947, in Alabama, son of the late Barnes Plyler and the late Myrtle Cooper Plyler.

He was a Teacher and Coach at Verbena High School and served in the United States Army from 1970-1973.

Surviving are his Brother, Danny Joel (Theone Echols) Plyler; Nephew, Jeremy Joel (Erika) Plyler; Nieces, Carys Plyler, Lindly Plyler.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Barnes Redwine Plyler, Jr., Mother, Myrtle Irene Plyler.

Friends will be received Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama. Internment to follow.
