Jimmy Lee Hayes

Jimmy Lee Hayes, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived life with laughter, kindness, and a love for the simple joys, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. He was 75 years old.

Born on May 18, 1950 to Dr. Thomas and Maude Hayes, Jimmy grew up with a love for people, nature, and the game of golf. Whether he was out on the course perfecting his swing or spending time with friends and family, Jimmy’s cheerful spirit and easy smile brought warmth to everyone who knew him.

Jimmy shared a beautiful life with his loving wife, Becky, and was a proud father to his daughter, Hollie. His greatest joy came from being “Poppy" to his granddaughters, Emma and Sophie, who adored the time they spent with him, his laughter, and his endless love.

A man who truly loved life, Jimmy found joy in every day-whether it was a sunny round of golf, a quiet evening at home, or time spent making memories with those he loved most. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Jimmy’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Hayes; Daughter, Hollie (Jay) Chestnut; Grandchildren, Emma Chestnut and Sophie Chestnut; Brother, Hal (Dordie) Hayes; Nephew, Todd (Tasha) Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Dr. Thomas A. Hayes; Mother, Maude S. Hayes; Brother, Joe Hayes.

Friends will be received Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Nelson officiating.
