He was born on Friday, November 3, 1944 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Son of the late Grady Monroe Moates and the late Willo Dean Barrett. He worked in Construction. Surviving are his Wife, Diane Moates of Collins Chapel Community, AL; 2 Daughters, Cynthia McLain of Clanton, AL, Sonya (Joel) Caudle of Collins Chapel Community, AL; Sister, Linda (Jack) Pate of Thorsby, AL; 4 Granddaughters, Andrienne McLain of Clanton, AL, Ariel McLain of Clanton, AL, Summer Knight of Clanton, AL, Savannah Caudle of Collins Chapel Community, AL; Grandson, Tyler Caudle of Collins Chapel Community, AL; Great-Grandson, Cayden Young of Clanton, AL; Great-Granddaughter, Lexi Smitherman of Clanton, AL. He was preceded in death by her Father, Grady Moates; Mother, Willo Dean Moates and Sister, Barbara Moates. Friends will be received from 5-8, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 1:00pm. at Collins Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Collins Chapel Cemetery, .
