Jody Hayes Thigpen

Jody Hayes Thigpen of Pensacola, Florida passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022, at the age of 64. He was born in Chilton County, Clanton, Alabama on January 24, 1958, as the youngest of four children to Butch and Ruby Hayes Thigpen. He went to Chilton County High School and then went to college at Auburn University, after which made a career in Voice and Data Engineering. As a child he grew up hunting and fishing and he never lost his love of being at hunting and fishing camps in Alabama and Florida.

Jody is preceded in death by his father, Butch Thigpen; sisters, Vicky Stokes and Vanessa Thigpen.

Jody is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Donna Renee Ivey, more than a son, Joseph Ivey; mother, Ruby Thigpen; brother, Jet Thigpen; sister-in-law, Cindy Thigpen; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Judge Chris Speaks officiating.

Family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity in his honor. Special Acknowledgement to Phillip and Vanessa McKinney of Clanton, Alabama for their support to the family at this time.
