Joe Wilson Cole, Sr.

Joe Wilson Cole, Sr. 83, of Clanton, Alabama passed away January 28, 2025, in Bessemer, AL .

He was born August 14, 1941, in Walker Co., Alabama, son of the late Buster Cole and the late Lois Cole.

He was a part owner as well as the purchasing agent for Omega Steel. Joe was a deacon, men's sunday school teacher and a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church for numerous years. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1969. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, camping and all University of Alabama sports.

Surviving are his Wife, Helen Cole, Daughter, Debbie (Chris) Dodd, Son, Joe (Jessica Gore) Cole, Jr., Granddaughter, Katlin Stewart, Granddaughter, Madison Cole, Granddaughter, Jodee Cole, Step-Grandson, C.J.  Dodd, Step-Grandson, Taylor Dodd, Great-Grandchild, Gannon Carroll, Step-Great-Grandchild, Emma Dodd, Step-Great-Grandchild, Jack Dodd, Sister, Jeanine (Jim) Sellers, Brother, Harold (Martha) Cole, Brother, Bill Cole, Sister, Vicki (Amos) Bleich, Sister-in-Law, Dot Cole, Special Friend, Tracy Dempsey, Special Friend, Dyson Dempsey.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Buster Cole, Mother, Lois Cole, Daughter-in-law, Melissa Davis Cole; Brother, Dennis Cole; Sister-in-Law, Betty Cole.

Friends will be received Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
