John Allen Ashmore, 77, of Verbena died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1936 in Mississippi, Son of the late Robert Ashmore and the late Ida Cummings Ashmore. He was in Law Enforcement. Surviving are his Wife, Susie Ashmore of Verbena, AL; Sons, Kent (Regina) Ashmore of Clanton, AL, Daryl Ashmore of Clanton, AL; Step-Son, Gary Elbon of Shelby, AL; Step-Daughter, Jenni Summers, IN; Grandchildren, Lauren Ashmore of Jemison, AL, Joshua Ashmore of Jemison, AL; Several Step-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Son, John Jr. and a Twin Brother, Albert Ashmore. Friends will be received from 5-7, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Tom Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL.
