John Pitts, 33, of Thorsby passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Vincent's East, Birmingham. He was born on Friday, January 4, 1985 in Birmingham, AL John is survived by his parents, Jim and Deb Pitts of Thorsby, AL; his sister, Anna Pitts Wright (Drew) of Collinsville, AL; nieces, Shelby and Abigail Wright of Collinsville, AL. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Matt DeBord officiating. Interment will follow in Copeland Bridge Cemetery, Collinsville, AL at 4:00 p.m. Pallbearers are: John Calhoun, Wilford Calhoun, Dan Pitts, Roe Pitts, Jim Greene and Mark Knight. Honorary Pall Bearers are: Kenneth Short, Floyd Porter, Ralph Mims, current and former employees of the Chilton Research & Extension Center. Special friends are: Trip & Betty Janney, Susan Akins, Geraldine Robinson, Lee Robinson, Dr. Jamie Odrezin and the Greenvale Pediatrics Staff as well as many others too numerous to mention that touched John's life.
