He was born on Wednesday, June 16, 1926 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Claude Smitherman and the late Renie Jones Smitherman. He was a Gas Line Inspector. Surviving are his Wife, Mrs. Irene P. Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Son, Mr. Ricky (Anita) Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Step-Grandson, Mr. Randy Tillery of Wetumpka, AL; 3 Grandsons, Mr. Eric Smitherman of Clanton, AL, Mr. Scott Smitherman of Clanton, AL, Mr. Todd Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Granddaughter, Mrs. Hope (Wade) Calfee of Thorsby, AL; 6 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Shirley Tillery. Friends will be received from 5-8, Sunday, October 31, 2010 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
