John Richard Suther, 75, of Verbena died Saturday, June 6, 2015. He was born on Monday, May 6, 1940 in Dallas Co., AL, Son of the late Judd Willard Suther and the late Frances Cornelia Johnson Suther. He worked with the Alabama Highway Department. Surviving are his Wife, Ruth Suther of Verbena, AL; Daughters, Sheila Charles of Selma, AL, Stephanie Mattes of Houston, TX, Ruth Ann Hall, PA; Sons, Rick Suther of Houston, TX, James Walker, Jr. of Clanton, AL, Willard Suther of Ronnieville, KY, John Patrick Suther of Mobile, AL; 20 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Shirley (Harry) Pugh of Selma, AL. Services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Pres. Richard Ferrell Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
