Johnell "Booty" Lawrence Sergent

Johnell “Booty” Lawrence Sergent, 82, of Huntsville, moved to heaven on August 28, 2021. She was born on April 2, 1939 to John Ponder, Jr. and Nell Lawrence in Clanton, Alabama. Johnell graduated from Alverson Draughon Business College in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked at the Better Business Bureau and Huntsville Diagnostic Lab in Huntsville, while being a devoted single parent to her three children. Johnell is survived by her husband, Ron Sergent; daughter Cindy Davis Bates (Chuck) of Vestavia, Alabama; Carl “Sonny” Davis (Debbie) of Huntsville, Alabama; and Melissa Davis Richardson (Charlie) of Auburn, Alabama. Her bonus children include Roxanne Sergent Thomas (Ron) of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Scott Sergent (Heather) of Atlanta, Georgia. Johnell’s grandchildren include Jordan Paige Bates, Anna Claire Bates, Clint Richardson (Autumn), Daniel Richardson, Jeremiah Thomas (Rebekah), and Brittney Sergent Arbogast (Dylan). Her great grandchildren are Jackson Parker, River Wiggins, Harper Heatherly, and Mary Emmaline, Isaac, and Carwynn Thomas. Johnell married her true love, Ron Sergent, in 2001. They enjoyed travelling in their RV and visiting all 50 states. Johnell’s love of all things Auburn began when she attended majorette camp there while in high school. She loved shopping, watching her hummingbirds, music and going to concerts. She was always very involved in her children’s lives and was Momma Davis to many of her children’s friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Burial will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Clanton City Cemetery in Clanton, Alabama at 2:30 p.m.
