Joseph Dennis Hopper, Ii

August 3, 1974 — February 8, 2024

Joseph "Dennis" Hopper II, 49, of Verbena, Alabama passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at home with his family.

He was born August 3, 1974, in Alabama, son of Joseph "Joe" and Kathy Hopper.

Dennis served in the US Air Force from 1995 until 2000 and then worked as a contractor at Dobbins Air Reserve base in Atlanta. What he was trained by the Air Force to do in Network Engineering he made a lifelong career of, and he was great at it! He made such an impact at AT&T that they extended him 8 times!  Dennis holds the record for the longest dedicated assignment at a single customer - 9 consecutive years!  He helped with scoping calls when available and was a key member of his company’s hiring team doing technical interviews.

Dennis was one to never meet a stranger! He made good friends everywhere he lived. With those friends, he always threw the best parties. Whether it be a Halloween costume party or a firework extravaganza with family, a fun time usually had Dennis involved. He could talk for hours about anything historical or Biblical. Dennis was truly in his element either while on the lake fishing or when talking about fast cars…particularly his 2020 Dodge Hellcat…and whatever Auburn team was playing at the moment. Dennis Hopper, you will truly be missed!

Surviving are his Parents, Joseph "Joe" Wiley Hopper and Kathy Seay Hopper; Sister, Kerrie Cheshire (Brian); Niece, Melody Cheshire; Nephew, Cameron Cheshire; Uncles, Ben Seay, Mike (Dianna) Seay, Johnny (Theresa) Seay, David (Rhonda) Seay, Bill (Linda) Hopper, David Hopper; and a host of cousins, friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, J.D. and Marjorie Hopper, Rex and Margaret Seay.

Friends will be received Monday, February 12, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Verbena Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm. at Verbena Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Acreman officiating.
