Joseph Hall Johnson M.D. Joseph Hall Johnson, age 93, passed away on December 1, 2012, at his residence in Clanton. He was born in Clanton on September 5, 1919, the son of the late Arthur Johnson and the late Mabel Hall Johnson. He practiced medicine in Clanton for 43 years. He was a graduate of Gulf Coast Military Academy, Vanderbilt University, and Vanderbilt School of Medicine, and he served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hill Johnson, and his brother, Arthur Johnson, Jr. He is survived by his five children, Pete Johnson of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Martha Trammell of Nashville, Tennessee, David Johnson of San Diego, California, Edwin (Maria) Johnson of Temple, Texas, and Marion (Emmett) Stanton of San Francisco, California. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, Katherine Trammell, Elizabeth Stanton Taliaferro (Kevin), Maureen Johnson, Ann Stanton, Rachel Johnson, Erica Johnson Colvin (David), Emmett Stanton, Daniel Johnson, Ryan Johnson (Ashley), and Lauren Johnson, and 3 great grandchildren. In additon, he is survived by 5 step-grandchildren: Elizabeth Trammell Berkenkamp, Nevin Trammell III, Lee Ann Trammell-Cherry, Nealy Hopkins White, and Samantha Brittany Hopkins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joe's memory to the Chilton Education Foundation, P.O. Box 225, Clanton, AL 35046, which supports academic enrichment in the Chilton County school system. The family will receive visitors between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 5. Graveside services will be at Clanton City Cemetery on Thursday, December 6, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Catherine B. Oliver officiating. Martin Funeral Home directing.
