Joyce Kelly Mccullers Davis

Mrs. Joyce Kelly McCullers Davis passed away on December 25th at her home in Foley after a brief illness. Joyce was born March 17, 1936 in Jemison, AL. She was predeceased by her parents William H. Kelly and Aileen G. Kelly and her husband, Reese H. Davis. Joyce is survived by her two children Joyce McCullers Varner and Jimmy Clayton McCullers, her son-in-law Rickie Varner, daughter-in-law Zhaleh McCullers, and her grandchildren Clayton McCullers, Kelly McCullers, and Christopher McCullers. Joyce had many friends who cared for her over her lifetime and some who were as dear to her as sisters that derserve mention: Blanche Sammons, Betty Choate, and Mildred Stonecipher. Joyce Varden, John and Janice Miller, Gary Wenzel and Evelyn Wenzel were faithful friends and supporters throughout her illness and the family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper for most of her life and retired in October 2016. She is a member of Foley Presbyterian Church and of the Foley Library where she spent a lot of time browsing for the latest mystery. She also loved to travel enjoyed visiting many states and having exciting adventures. Joyce loved her family, her cat Maggie Pearl, and friends passionately and had an unwavering faith in God. The funeral will occur at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, AL. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11am in the Chapel with interment at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison, AL.
