Judy F. Johnston left this world, but not our hearts on March 26, 2024 after a valiant battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Judy was born in Fairfield, AL to James and Mary Franke Crowder Johnston. She was a lifelong learner, which served her well as a Speech Pathologist, with years of service at the Alabama Institute for The Deaf and Blind where she was a favorite teacher and loved by many. Judy also shared her professional gifts at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, AL and traveled through numerous counties working with home health as well. Her stories about the youngsters whose paths she crossed and brightened reflected the tender caring that inspired her interactions. Judy was a born leader with boundless energy, dedication to her profession, and an admirably positive attitude that, later in life, kept her accepting of her limitations and always looking for the goodness in life. Judy is remembered for her delightful sense of humor, her kindness, and her ability to put people at ease and feel welcome. Judy's facebook friends looked forward to her frequent pun posts that evoked either eye rolls, giggles, or hearty laughter. People often said that Judy made their day. Judy also had a deep love for animals, and Shelties in particular. Many were rescues that she fostered; others were her own that she trained in Obedience, Agility, And Flyball. Surely, they all gathered to welcome her at the Rainbow Bridge, united again with their beloved person.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Franke Johnston; her only sibling, Harold Johnston; a nephew, Geoffrey Johnston; and a great nephew, Bradley Johnston.
