Judy Childress Thornton, 76, of Clanton died Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Birmingham. She was born on Sunday, August 29, 1943 in Clanton, AL, Daughter of the late John Thomas Childress and the late Pauline Henley Childress. She was an accountant. Surviving are her Son, Mark (Tammy) Thornton; Daughters, Paula Thornton, Jill (Heath) Chambers; Sister, Jan (Ernest) Fike; Grandchildren, Abbey Thornton, Brady Thornton, Noah Chambers, Mason Cox, Hannah Chambers, Malley Cox, Max Chambers. She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Harold Thornton; Parents, Thomas and Polly Childress. Friends will be received from 12-2 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019. Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Martin Chapel with Rev. Ernest Fike and Rev. Tommy Fike officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
