Kathy Ann (Patterson) Childress, 73, of Clanton, Alabama passed away July 23, 2025, at her home in Clanton, AL.

She was born August 31, 1952, the only daughter of the late Rev. Curtis Patterson and the late Kathaleen Patterson.

She was a devoted wife, mother, nanny/grannie, daughter, sister and friend.

She is survived by her Daughter, Kimberly (Kerry) Smitherman; Son, Christopher Brian Childress; Grandson, Wesley Drew (Linsey) Smitherman; Granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Smitherman; Great-Granddaughter, Melanie Dru Smitherman; Brothers, Rev. Larry Patterson, Steve (Pattie) Patterson; Special Niece, Jacklyn Patterson Powell; Special Cousin & Friend, Kay Varden.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Danny Robert Childress; Parents, Rev. Curtis & Kathaleen Patterson; Brother, Rev. Allen Patterson.
