Lamerle Smitherman Heflin, 83, of Clanton, Alabama passed away August 12, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama. She was born July 4, 1938 in Clanton, Alabama, daughter of the late Milton Smitherman and the late Odie Bell Cleckler Smitherman. She was in her happy place when she was catfishing. Surviving are her Sons, Bobby "Cooter" (Lisa) Heflin and James Robert (Sherrie) Heflin, Jr.; Daughter, Judy (Eugene) Wyatt; Grandchildren, Kenneth Wyatt, Jamie Heflin, Adam Heflin, Drew Byrd, Matthew Byrd, Shelby Heflin; Eight Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Dolly Bell Hesler, Shirley Patterson and Myrtice Walker; Brothers, Charles Smitherman and Robert Smitherman. She was preceded in death by her Sisters, Betty Smitherman, Geraldine Smitherman and Everine Minor; Brothers, Wilton Smitherman and Wayne Smitherman; Father, Milton Smitherman; Mother, Odie Bell Cleckler Smitherman. Friends will be received Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Wilson and Rev. Austin Ball officiating.
