Laura Faye Watts was born September 15, 1941 to Dolphus and Allie Jones. She was one of seven children. They were a farming family, raising cotton, corn, and peaches in the Liberty Hill community. Faye graduated from Chilton County High School in 1959. She was a telephone operator before being married and starting a family. She and husband, Charles Watts lived their married life next to the Jones family farm and were dedicated members of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. When she later returned to work, she was a counselor with the Chilton Shelby Mental Health Center where she taught life skills to adults with Special Needs. After retirement she enjoyed being at home, spending time with friends, playing cards and dominos, completing puzzles and supporting her grandchildren in all of their activities. Throughout her life, family was very important. She is survived by her son, Mark (Renae) Watts, daughter, Renee (DeWayne) Green. Grandchildren, Dalton (Alexsis) Green, Walker Green, and Allie Watts. As well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by husband, Charles Watts, grandson, Keith Watts and parents, Dolphus and Allie Jones. As well as her siblings: twins, Louise Thornton and Lucille Chancellor, Bernice Jones, Calvin Jones, Calvin’s still born twin and Ray Jones. The family wants to say a special thank you to her church family and friends who kept her busy and active. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 1-2pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Services will be at 2pm also at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. The church and family ask that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Liberty Hill Cemetery Fund.
