May 3, 1968 — February 2, 2025


Laurie Beth Young (Carlisle), 56, of Clanton, AL, died Sunday, February 2, 2025 tragically as a result of a house fire. Our hearts are also burdened by the loss of Ms. Cindy, Laurie’s roommate and her beloved furry family, 4 cats, Sox, Precious, Batty, and Yoda and 2 dogs, Bandit and Skinny B. All who were tragically lost in the fire.

She leaves behind her 3 daughters Tamila Young with 2 Granddaughters Arianna and Jayda of Taylors SC; Jenilee Bridges with 1 Granddaughter, Xzandria, and 1 Grandson, Drakelavin of Taylors, SC; Cyndel Young with 4 Grandsons, Camron, Colton, Clayton, Caidyn and 1 Granddaughter, Novalee of Verbena, AL; Brother, Jim Young of Travelers Rest, SC; Sister, Nancy Levesque of Locust Grove, VA and the many nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is preceded in death by Brother John Young.

Born in Greenville, SC, the daughter of the late Jack Kenneth and Nancy Abbie Young lived most of her life in Taylors, SC.

In order to support the vast friends and family that Laurie leaves behind, a service will be held at 6 pm Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Lomax Assembly of God at 17580 US-31 Clanton, AL with Pastor Erron Price officiating. There will be no visitation. A service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2pm at Table Rock State Park, Hemlock Shelter #3, 158 E. Ellison Lane, Pickens, South Carolina 29671.

Laurie was a free-spirited woman who helped anyone she could. She spent the last several years working as a care taker. She had a love for nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and thrifting but her greatest joy was playing and spending time with her grandkids. Her time her on earth was not long but during her time here, she lived a lifetime. Spreading joy, kindness, love and support to those in need was her purpose.  Her passion and love for life was infectious and will be forever remembered as a testament to her legacy. Those lives she touched were forever changed and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
