Laverna Abston

LaVerna (LA) Abston, 76, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away December 4, 2023, at White Oaks Manor in Newberry, South Carolina.

She was born January 17, 1947 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, daughter of the late Herbert R. Benton and the Late LaVerna R. Benton.

She was a men’s hair-stylist in Birmingham’s Southside for many years. She was also an avid Alabama fan. She had a very competitive spirit.

Surviving are her Sons, Robert Eugene Abston and John Michael Abston; Grandchildren,

Chris Abston. Taylor Abston, Hunter Abston, Bradley Abston, Chase Abston, and Courtney Abston; Great Grandchildren, Hannah Abston, Colton Abston and Hayden Abston. Sisters; Connie Marsh (Roy), Debbie Conwill (Bo). Brothers; Stan Benton (Dianne), Keith Benton (Donna). She was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Herbert R. Benton; Mother, LaVerna R. Benton; Niece, Robin Crook.

There will be a memorial celebrating her life at a later date.
