Lawrence A. BATES, 88, of Clanton died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Hatley Health Care, Clanton. He was born on Thursday, December 30, 1920 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Son of the late John D. Bates and the late Frances Robinson Bates. He was a Truck Driver. Surviving are his Special Nephew, Mr. Danny Bates of Clanton, AL; Special Niece, Mrs. Susie Mattis of Pelham, AL; and a number of nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mrs. Mable Jean Bates. Friends will be received from 1-2pm, Saturday, June 27, 2009 @ the church. Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 2:00PM. at Providence #2 Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Providence #2 Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, AL Martin Funeral Home directing.
